For competitive swimmers

Competitive swimming coach in Singapore — for swimmers who want to win, not just train

Your child already puts in the hours. Coach Jina makes sure those hours turn into faster race times, with weekly 1-to-1 technical coaching from a former SEA Games athlete.

The missing layer

Club training builds the engine. We tune it.

Clubs and squads are essential — they give swimmers volume, fitness and race exposure. But with one coach to a lane of swimmers, small technical faults slip through and get repeated thousands of times a week.

That’s where Coach Jina comes in. One focused session a week, zeroed in on the gaps your swimmer is unaware of and your club coach may be too busy to catch. Then your swimmer takes the fix back to every club session — so the improvement compounds.

What a session covers

  • Body line & head position
  • Catch, pull and hand entry
  • Kick timing & rhythm
  • Breathing pattern under speed
  • Race pacing & mindset
  • Clear goals for the next club session

Mindset

Change “cannot” to “can”.

Fast swimmers aren’t just technically sharp — they race with belief. Coach Jina coaches the head as well as the stroke: how to approach a race, how to handle a bad swim, and why showing up and doing the right thing every week is what eventually gets you there.

“Some days you win, some days you lose. We just need to keep showing up and do the right thing. Eventually, if we don’t give up, we get there.”

Real result

Frequently asked questions

Who is competitive swimming coaching for?

Swimmers who already train with a club, school team or squad and race at meets such as SSPA timings, club invitationals, SAQ age-group meets or the National School Games, and who want to drop time faster.

Will this clash with my child’s club coach?

Not necessarily, it depends on the approach. Stroke correction complements club training when it addresses your child’s individual technical needs without disrupting their existing programme. It isn’t about changing everything the club coach has taught; when the technical objectives are aligned, it complements club training rather than conflicting with it. How stroke correction works with club training →

Which strokes do you coach?

All four competitive strokes — freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly — plus the race skills around them such as streamlines, turns and pacing. For starts, see the next question.

Can you help my child improve their turns and starts?

Yes! I work on turns as part of my stroke correction sessions.

When it comes to starts, both Delta and Queenstown swimming pools have restrictions on using the starting blocks for safety reasons. This means we are unable to carry out practical block-start training at these venues.

Nevertheless, I can still guide your child with technical pointers and advice to help them understand what they can improve.

If your child needs more focused practice on competitive starts, I can connect you with another competitive stroke correction coach who has access to a suitable venue for this type of training.

My aim is to help each swimmer get the appropriate guidance for their individual needs.
