Got a target time? Let’s close the gap.
Upgrading to the next squad, making a school team, hitting an SSPA or NSG timing — Coach Jina helps competitive swimmers in Singapore get there with focused, week-by-week technique work.
How it works
We work backwards from the target.
Send us three numbers: your swimmer’s current time, the target time, and the date of the next meet. Coach Jina looks at where the seconds are most likely hiding — usually technique, sometimes pacing or race mindset — and builds the weekly plan around it.
Aiming for an NSG qualifying time? See the NSG swimming guide for divisions, entry rules and when times must be swum.

Real story
Target 3:35.88. He swam 3:25.05.
On 2 May 2026, a parent messaged: their son needed 3:35.88 for upgrading at his club. His PB was 3:42.66, and he had just swum 3:45.30. Ten days later he swam 3:25.05 — and he has kept dropping time at every meet since, down to 3:07 by October.

Frequently asked questions
What is swim club “upgrading”?
Many Singapore swim clubs move swimmers up to faster squads when they hit set qualifying times. Each club sets its own timings and process, so always check the latest standards with your club.
Can you help with National School Games or SSPA timings?
Yes. Whatever the target — an SSPA timing, a club upgrading time or an NSG qualifying time — we work backwards from the gap and focus on the technical changes most likely to close it.
How much time is there before the meet?
Even a few weeks can help. Our case-study swimmer contacted Coach Jina on 2 May with a meet on 15 May — and swam 3:25.05 on 12 May, more than 17 seconds faster than his previous PB.
