Move freely again — in the water
Gentle, technique-led swimming and water-exercise sessions for seniors and adults recovering from injury. Build strength, mobility and confidence, one stroke at a time.

- Standard First Aid certified
Why water
Gentle on joints. Powerful for strength.
The water carries much of your body weight, so you can move, stretch and strengthen with far less impact than on land. Good technique matters even more here — an efficient, relaxed stroke protects the shoulders, neck and back.
- Learn or relearn to swim safely
- Improve mobility, balance and posture
- Build strength and stamina gradually
- Technique adjusted around stiffness or past injuries
Safe, progressive, personal
Every session is 1-to-1 and paced to how you feel that day. We start with comfort and safety, then progress gradually. If you are under medical care, we work within your doctor’s or physiotherapist’s guidance.
Jina holds AUSTSWIM’s Teacher of Adults qualification, a specialist course in teaching adult swimmers that covers adult learning, water confidence, and health, medical and safety issues.
Why Jina cares about seniors
She shows up for older Singaporeans, in and out of the pool
Outside coaching, Jina volunteers with SG Assist, buying necessities for people who need help, bringing them to their homes, and on occasion accompanying elderly residents to the doctor. She has seen first-hand how isolating it can be to grow older with less support, and she brings that same patience and care to every senior she teaches.
As featured in the press: Jina told an SPH Chinese newspaper that she has started learning how to teach stroke patients to swim, and plans to teach seniors and people with disabilities. Sessions remain coach-led swimming, not medical treatment.
“I feel they are overlooked by society. Many have problems at home, and for those who are older it’s harder.”
“They are all very happy, and usually very grateful.”
“My name Helen, 61 yrs old, together with my friend Lilian 68 yrs and Agnes 80yrs recently joined swimming class… She is very patient and caring for senior people… I want to learn freestyle swimming due to my neck problems. She not only taught me freestyle swim, but also rectified my mistakes in breaststroke.”

What parents and swimmers say
“At 30, I still could not swim… I am only on lesson 2 and I have already come further than ever before.”
“She is a strong swimmer, and she can immediately point out the mistakes in my technique.”

Frequently asked questions
Is it too late to learn to swim as a senior?
It’s never too late. Many seniors learn to swim or return to swimming later in life. Lessons are paced to your comfort and focus on safety and confidence first.
Is this aquatic therapy or physiotherapy?
No — sessions are coach-led water exercise and swimming, not medical treatment. They can complement physiotherapy or a doctor’s advice. If you are recovering from surgery or injury, please get medical clearance first and share any guidance with Coach Jina.
What conditions can water exercise help with?
Water supports body weight and gives gentle resistance, which many people with stiff joints, back discomfort or reduced mobility find easier than land exercise. Your doctor or physiotherapist can advise what is suitable for you.
Do you have experience teaching adults and seniors?
Yes. Teaching adults and seniors isn’t about certificates. It takes experience and an understanding of how the body moves and functions. Many older swimmers have stiffness, past injuries or limited mobility, so I adapt the technique to what their body can comfortably do, and they can still swim safely and with confidence.
